Welcome to Frank & Ethel’s

From Our Home To Yours

At Frank & Ethel’s, we believe in living a life full of wonder and play—doing so with good food and fun along the way, while cherishing the stories that connect us all. Life’s sweetest moments happen when we gather together, share what we love, and create space for the beautiful, unexpected adventures that unfold.

Why Frank and not Fred & Ethel? Also, why not use our real names?

Our Frank is not a Fred, though he’s often described as quiet—the kind of steady presence you notice most in absence. Ethel, on the other hand, is curious about the world and the people around her, always creating experiences that leave room for humor and unexpected play.

When we’re in our respective elements, we become our unique version of this classic sitcom couple. Frank & Ethel’s celebrates the partnership itself: quiet strength meeting enthusiastic creativity, practical support balancing imaginative possibility. That’s why we chose the name instead of our own—it speaks to what we’re growing together, separate from ourselves, something we hope will connect with your stories while still hinting at our own.

Welcome to our journey. We hope to bring you comfort, joy, and a sense of wonder with life and the world as we experience it. We’re not Lucy and Ricky or Fred and Ethel, but we hope we can bring you laughs and wonder with a bit of humility and—most likely—mischief. It often follows curiosity.

What is Frank & Ethel’s?

We are a family-owned collection of businesses built around the passions of Erik & Mallorie Kristoffersen. Erik combines his love of growing nutritious, flavorful ingredients with decades of experience in the restaurant and hospitality industry—part urban farmer, part chef, with the hands-on spirit of someone who’s always ready to pull out the toolbox and tinker his way to a solution. Mallorie loves the story that comes with vintage and hand-crafted items and deeply believes in the value of home and belonging. Together, we share a childhood love of I Love Lucy and the adventures of life that unfold with each rerun episode.

Frank & Ethel’s is our way of bringing people together through interconnected businesses that celebrate everyday culture, sustainable practices, and the stories that connect us all. Just like Lucy’s schemes always brought the gang together (even when they went hilariously wrong), we’re creating gathering spaces where neighbors and friends connect through shared experiences, creative expression, and meaningful relationships.

Our Growing Family of Services:

Microgreens by Frank brings fresh, locally-grown microgreens to your table through partnerships with local chefs and direct-to-home subscriptions. Erik’s green thumb meets his hospitality expertise to deliver the freshest flavors right to your door.

Culture of Home offers memory-centered home transition consulting that preserves the stories behind your treasures. Whether you’re downsizing, dealing with an estate, or simply wanting to honor your family’s history, we help turn transitions into celebrations of the lives and love that built your home.

The Culture Lab provides online programs for children that blend creativity, emotional intelligence, and design thinking. From our Creative Design Programs to our Emotion Playground sessions, we’re nurturing the next generation of thoughtful, creative humans who understand that every story matters.

Coming Soon to the family

Brassy & Green gives forgotten furniture new life through refinishing and restoration. We document each piece’s transformation, proving that with a little love and creativity, anything can become beautiful again.

Gatherings @ Home curates vintage housewares and treasures that help create the perfect atmosphere for connection. Because sometimes the right platter or the perfect lamp is exactly what turns a house into a home.

Our Vision: Opening Our Doors to a Home Away from Home

Like Lucy always dreaming of something bigger, we’re working toward creating a beautiful historic property that serves as a home away from home for strangers and friends alike—complete with commercial kitchen, workshop spaces, event areas, and even an animal sanctuary. A place where children learn alongside seniors, where stories are preserved and shared, and where the magic of connection happens naturally through the everyday moments we create together.

This isn’t just a business—it’s a bridge between preserving our past and nurturing our future, one story, one child, one community connection at a time. We’re building something that celebrates the beautiful, messy, wonderful adventure of being human together.

Take a seat, join us at the table, and stay a little longer. We’d love for you to grab some coffee and get to know us better—hear more about Erik’s Baltimore roots and Mallorie’s deep Howard County heritage, and discover how our individual stories came together to create Frank & Ethel’s.

So welcome to Frank & Ethel’s, where every day is a new episode in the ongoing story of community and connection with just a little bit of mischief. We can’t wait to see what adventures unfold next!

From our home to yours,

Mallorie & Erik
